Manresa, Pascual Artero, founder of the company
In Manresa, he began his legacy by selling tools for horse shearing.
Barcelona, Daniel Artero, 2nd generation
Daniel moved Artero to the Catalan capital, where he opened a shop that included a blade sharpening service, on Llibreteria Street. At that time, he began to specialize in barbering products, such as soap and straight razors. It was not until after the Spanish Civil War in 1939 that some brands of hair clippers, sewing scissors, and blades began to be imported.
Barcelona, Fernando Artero, 3rd generation
Fernando expanded the business on Call Street 17, which is the current flagship store of the group in Barcelona. The business focused on cutlery, barbering, and machines for dog grooming. Throughout this period, the company distributed professional hair care brands for stylists/barbers and the canine industry. In addition to the store, which now has a space of 250 square meters, they had their own machinery for sharpening not only blades but also scissors. Currently, this service represents the brand for its professionalism and quality.
The branch and store in Madrid were opened, located on one of the most important streets in the city.
Vilassar de Dalt (Barcelona)
The first industrial warehouse was purchased in Vilassar de Dalt, where due to the high growth of the company and insufficient storage capacity, it was moved to another warehouse in the same city in 2022.
The store was inaugurated, which 27 years later still serves the city.
Key year for the company
The business was diversified with the manufacturing of cosmetics for companion animals and the incorporation of electric devices such as flat irons, blow dryers, and clippers. Additionally, that year the company began exporting in the European market.
The company celebrated its centennial, marking 100 years of work, innovation, and improvements.
Artero International Academy (AIA) was created, a training school for dog groomers. Currently, there are more than 100 centers spread across Spain, Italy, and Portugal.
The company received the PYME Award from the newspaper "Expansión" for the internationalization of the company.
The first international branch of ARTE-RO U.S was inaugurated, located just 100 km from Miami.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, the Artero UK branch was opened.
