Caring for a Dalmatian
- Maintenance: Brush once a week to remove excess moulted hair and bathe monthly to keep clean.
- Grooming: Shorthaired breeds should not be clipped as they renew their coats. You can help by brushing the coat with a rubber mitt or brush to remove the excess hair and reduce shedding at home.
- Special Attention: Pay extra attention to the pet's elbows as the skin there is prone to drying and cracking.
- Recommended Grooming Appointments: A monthly bath is sufficient to help out with the shedding of this breed, make sure to use a moisturising shampoo to benefit both hair and skin.

What is the Dalmatian like?
The Dalmatian is a breed of dog known for its white coat with distinct black markings. These dogs are friendly, playful and get along well with both children and other animals.
The Dalmatian is a very active dog and needs an adequate amount of daily exercise to keep happy and healthy. This includes long walks, running in the park and playing with their owners and other dogs.
In addition, Dalmatians are a very intelligent breed that enjoy learning tricks and commands - this was most useful when they worked in the service industry with the Firefighters.
This breed is an excellent companion for those who are looking for a friendly, active and easy to train dog.
