Do you want the best care for your Abyssinian cat?

We show you the 3 steps you must follow to achieve it

1. BRUSHING

  • Abyssinian cats require minimal care, the most important of which is brushing.
  • Brushing 1 time a week will be enough to remove the hair shed from the follicle.
  • For very short hair, a rubber-studded glove will help brush and remove loose hair.
  • For medium and thick hair, slicker brushes and rakes will be ideal for brushing and removing shedding hair.

2. BATHING

  • Bathing is essential to maintain our cat's hygiene, eliminate bad odors, and remove dander.
  • Conditioning the coat will help remove a large amount of shedding hair in the tub and help prevent future tangles.
  • When we cannot bathe or our cat rejects water, we can perform a dry cleaning with damp cleaning gloves.

3. HYGIENE

  • Ear hygiene is fundamental. Removing earwax (cerumen) and keeping the ear canals clean and ventilated will prevent possible infections and itching.
  • The buildup of eye discharge (sleep/gunk) and dirt in the nose is common; cleaning these areas with finger cots (wipes) almost daily will be essential.
  • Having a breath freshener for cats with bad breath can help with coexistence.

What is the Abyssinian Cat Like?

  • Origin: Africa (probably Egypt or Ethiopia).
  • Characteristics: Short coat with a “ticked” pattern, agile and muscular body.
  • Personality: Very active, curious, and sociable.

With its short coat lying close to the body, the Abyssinian does not need extensive cosmetic care. However, an occasional brushing with a rubber glove helps stimulate the skin and remove shedding hair.

Its curious and active nature appreciates quick and effective grooming sessions. Ideal for practical products like refreshing wipes.
