Caring for your Havanese
- Maintenance: It is recommended to brush this coat a couple of times a week and bathe every 14 days.
Brushing: You need to regularly brush this coat due to it's length making it prone to tangling and knotting. Always use products and tools that will not damage the coat and skin.
Haircut: This long-haired breed should have a noticeable parting straight down it's back with the hair falling long on either side. You should trim the paw pads to be full but rounded and trim the skirt enough to not touch the ground. The face is styled similiarly with all the coat left long, the fringe combed away from the eyes.
Special Attention: Due to the length of the coat it is prone to tangling, make sure to keep it well moisturised to prevent dryness which leads to breakage and tangling.
Recommended Grooming Appointments: It is important to visit the grooming salon every 6 to 8 weeks for a bath, brush and trim to avoid accumulation of knots and tangles
